Sifat va feʼldan keyingi predloglar
Baʼzi sifat va feʼllardan keyin maʼlum bir predlog kelganda: good at, depend on. B1
Koʻp sifat va feʼllardan keyin maʼlum bir predlog keladi: good at, interested in, listen to, depend on. Bu predlogni qoidadan chiqarib boʻlmaydi — uni soʻz bilan birga, bitta iboradek yodlash kerak: «good at», «afraid of».
Predlogdan keyin ot, olmosh yoki -ing shakli keladi: She is good at maths. I am worried about him. He is afraid of flying. Predlogdan keyin to + feʼl hech qachon kelmaydi: interested in learning.
Savollarda predlog odatda gap oxirida qoladi: What are you interested in? Who are you waiting for?

Oʻzbek tili bilan farqi
Oʻzbek tilida bu vazifani kelishik qoʻshimchalari bajaradi va ular otdan keyin keladi: matematikadan yaxshi, musiqaga qiziqaman, itdan qoʻrqaman, ob-havoga bogʻliq. Inglizcha predlog esa otdan oldin turadi va qoʻshimchaga mos kelmaydi: -dan doim from emas (afraid of, good at), -ga doim to emas (interested in, depend on). «Musiqa tinglamoq» predlogsiz, inglizchada esa listen to music. «Rejani muhokama qilmoq» — discuss the plan, about kerak emas.

Когда после прилагательного или глагола нужен определённый предлог: good at, depend on.
После многих прилагательных и глаголов нужен определённый предлог: good at, interested in, listen to, depend on.
После предлога идёт существительное, местоимение или форма на -ing: She's good at maths. I'm worried about him. He's afraid of flying. После предлога никогда не бывает to + глагол: interested in learning.
What are you interested in? Who are you waiting for?
В русском тоже есть управление, но предлоги часто не совпадают: зависеть от — depend on (не from); силён в математике — good at maths; интересоваться чем-то (без предлога) — interested in; слушать музыку, ждать автобус — listen to music, wait for the bus. И наоборот: обсуждать план, звонить другу — discuss the plan, call a friend, без предлога.
