Muloyim bilvosita savollar

Notanish odamdan, doʻkonda yoki ustozdan biror narsani muloyim soʻrash uchun. B1

Toʻgʻridan-toʻgʻri savol baʼzan qoʻpol eshitiladi. Muloyim boʻlish uchun savolni maxsus ibora bilan boshlaymiz: Could you tell me…? Do you know…? I'd like to know… I was wondering…

Bu iboradan keyin savol darak gap tartibiga oʻtadi: avval ega, keyin feʼl. do / does / did ishlatilmaydi: Where is the station? → Could you tell me where the station is?

Ha / yoʻq savollarida if yoki whether qoʻshiladi: Is the museum open? → Do you know if the museum is open?

Zamon oʻzgarmaydi — bu boshqa odamning gapi emas, sizning oʻz savolingiz. Agar ibora savol boʻlsa (Could you tell me…?), oxirida ? qoʻyiladi; agar darak gap boʻlsa (I wonder…), nuqta qoʻyiladi.

Oʻzbek tili bilan farqi

Oʻzbek tilida muloyimlik -sangiz, iltimos, ayta olasizmi bilan beriladi: «Vokzal qayerdaligini ayta olasizmi?» Ichki savol feʼlning -lik, -ish shakliga oʻtadi, soʻz tartibi esa oʻzgarmaydi. Ingliz tilida esa ichki savolda soʻz tartibi oʻzgaradi: Where is the station? → … where the station is? Oʻquvchilar yaqinda oʻrgangan savolni oʻzgartirmay ulab qoʻyishadi: Could you tell me where is the station? «Bor-yoʻqligini», «borish-bormasligini» kabi shakllar ingliz tilida if / whether bilan beriladi.

Could you tell me…? Do you know…? I'd like to know… I was wondering…

Where is the station? → Could you tell me where the station is?

В вопросах «да / нет» добавляется if или whether: Is the museum open? → Do you know if the museum is open?

Если вводная фраза — вопрос (Could you tell me…?), в конце ставится ?; если утверждение (I wonder…), — точка.

Could you tell me where is the station? — а нужно where the station is. Do you know if the museum is open? Do you know is the museum open?
