Oʻzbek tili bilan farqi
Oʻzbek tilida bunday maxsus soʻz yoʻq: sifatga qoʻshimcha qoʻshilsa yetarli — «qizilini ol», «yangisini sotib oldim», «mana bunisi». Ingliz tilida sifat yolgʻiz turolmaydi, unga one yoki ones kerak: the red one, new ones. Shuning uchun «I want the red» degan xato chiqadi. Yana bir eslatma: one bu yerda «bitta» sonini bildirmaydi, u faqat otning oʻrnini bosadi.

Чтобы не повторять существительное: I don't like the red T-shirt. I like the blue one.
Чтобы не повторять существительное второй раз, вместо него говорят one (единственное число) или ones (множественное): Which bag is yours? — The black one. (= the black bag)
one заменяет исчисляемое существительное в единственном числе: a big one, this one, the one on the left. ones — во множественном: I like the new ones. Обычно перед ними стоит прилагательное или слово вроде the, this, which.
С неисчисляемыми one не используется: I like white rice, but not brown. (не «brown one»).
Сравнение с русским и узбекским
В русском прилагательное спокойно стоит без существительного: «дай красную», «я купил новые», «вот эта». В английском прилагательное одно стоять не может, нужно one или ones: the red one, new ones, this one. Отсюда ошибки «I want the red». И не путайте с числом: one здесь не «один», а просто заместитель существительного, а во множественном числе нужно ones.
