Oʻzbek tili bilan farqi
Oʻzbek tilida «bu» va «anavi» koʻplikda oʻzgarmaydi: bu kitob — bu kitoblar. Ingliz tilida esa koʻrsatish soʻzi ham koʻplikka oʻtadi: this book → these books, that car → those cars. Shuning uchun «this books» degan xato koʻp uchraydi. Yana: oʻzbekchada «Bu mening kitobim» gapida feʼl yoʻq, ingliz tilida esa feʼl shart: This is my book.

this, that, these, those указывают на предмет или человека. Чтобы выбрать слово, задайте два вопроса: близко или далеко? Один или много?
this — один, близко: this book (эта книга). these — много, близко: these books (эти книги). that — один, далеко: that car (та машина). those — много, далеко: those cars (те машины).
Они могут стоять перед существительным (this phone) или отдельно (This is my phone). С these и those глагол тоже во множественном числе: These are my friends.
Сравнение с русским и узбекским
В русском указательные слова тоже меняются по числу: этот — эти, тот — те. Это помогает: this — этот, these — эти, that — тот, those — те. Но русское «это» в «Это мои друзья» не меняется, а в английском меняется: These are my friends, а не «This are my friends». Кроме того, по-русски «тот» говорят редко и даже о далёком предмете часто говорят «этот», поэтому помните о расстоянии: далеко — that / those.
