Когда предметов больше одного, к существительному обычно добавляют -s: a book → two books, a friend → friends.
А у нескольких важных слов совсем особая форма: man → men, child → children, foot → feet.
Ловушки — слова, у которых число в двух языках не совпадает: «деньги» и «новости» по-английски в единственном числе (money is, the news is), а неисчисляемые «информация», «советы» — information, advice — не принимают -s.
