too va enough
Biror narsa ortiqcha yoki yetarli ekanini aytish uchun: too hot, old enough. A2
too «keragidan ortiq» degani va koʻpincha muammo borligini bildiradi: This T-shirt is too small — menga kichkina, kiya olmayman. enough «yetarli» degani: I am old enough to stay home alone.
Soʻz tartibi muhim: too sifatdan oldin keladi (too big), enough esa sifatdan keyin (big enough). Ot bilan enough otdan oldin turadi: enough money, enough time.
Ot bilan too much (sanalmaydigan) yoki too many (sanaladigan) ishlatiladi: too much sugar, too many people. Keyin to + feʼl yoki for + kimdir kelishi mumkin: too hot to drink, too difficult for me.

Oʻzbek tili bilan farqi
Oʻzbek tilida «juda» ham very, ham too maʼnosida ishlatiladi: «Choy juda issiq» — iliq boʻlishi ham, ichib boʻlmasligi ham mumkin. Ingliz tilida bu ikki xil: very hot (juda issiq, lekin mayli), too hot (ichib boʻlmaydi). Shuning uchun «Bu juda chiroyli»ni It is too beautiful deb tarjima qilish xato — very kerak. «Yetarlicha» oʻzbekchada sifatdan oldin keladi (yetarlicha katta), inglizchada enough sifatdan keyin: big enough. Faqat ot bilan oldin: enough money.
Eslatmalar
- too va very farqi: very hot — juda issiq, lekin ichsa boʻladi; too hot — ichib boʻlmaydi.
- Gap oxiridagi too boshqa maʼnoda — «ham»: I like plov too.
- to + feʼldan keyin it qoʻshilmaydi: The tea is too hot to drink (to drink it emas).

to + feʼldan keyin it ortiqcha: choy gapning egasi.

По-русски: too и enough
Чтобы сказать, что чего-то слишком много или достаточно: too hot, old enough.
too значит «слишком, больше, чем нужно» и обычно говорит о проблеме: This T-shirt is too small — она мне мала, не могу надеть. enough значит «достаточно»: I'm old enough to stay home alone.
Важен порядок слов: too стоит перед прилагательным (too big), а enough — после него (big enough). С существительным enough стоит перед ним: enough money, enough time.
С существительными используется too much (неисчисляемые) или too many (исчисляемые): too much sugar, too many people. Дальше может идти to + глагол или for + кто-то: too hot to drink, too difficult for me.
«Слишком много людей» — too many people, «слишком много сахара» — too much sugar (не too people, не too sugar).
